El Alma at Home
Discloser: I received a complimentary, complete VIP El Alma at Home cocktail and meal kit. All opinions are my own.
I am so excited to announce El Alma at Home! For those of you (like myself) who have been fawning over Chef Alma and her delicious elevated Mexican cuisine served at Barton Springs’ staple El Alma Restaurante & Bar for almost a decade, here is your opportunity to have Chef Alma in your very own kitchen…virtually of course! El Alma has developed four different member programs, one surely to fit your individual desires. From receiving a monthly newsletter with valuable tips and tricks – you know you want to know how to make Chef Alma’s magical guacamole (“like [she] used to make as a kid”) – to complete virtual cooking classes along with delicious cocktails. During the live demo, Chef Alma is eager to engage in Q&A while cooking along side-by-side. If you prefer, you can watch the recorded webinar the following day for additional assistance in your kitchen.
Please visit the El Alma at Home site for more information and to enroll in one of the exclusive membership plans. Virtual cooking classes and mix-along cocktails are scheduled every third Wednesday of the month and the menu varies each time. Kits are available for curbside, no contact, pick up one to two days prior to the live airing of El Alma at Home; or a list of all ingredients will be provided to you in plenty of time for you to acquire them all if you enroll in the El Alma Regular Membership tier. Be sure to enroll on/before the Sunday proceeding the date of the Wednesday class (e.g., deadline to enroll for Oct 21 class is by end of day, Sunday Oct 18). Monthly memberships can be cancelled/or paused at any time or you can even choose individual classes to participate in. See El Alma at Home FAQ PAGE for all of the details.
I had such a blast participating in the virtual cooking class with mix-along-kit prepared by El Alma! I think the recipes are well-suited for beginner to intermediate and advanced home cooks, but nobody should be intimidated at giving it a go. El Alma provides very detailed written and visual instructions to make dishes and the cocktails are super simple and pack a kick.
In honor of Mexican Heritage last month, and the fact my class happened to fall on Mexican Independence Day, my September experience included Chiles Rellenos de Picadillo en Caldillo and a perfect LALO tequila margarita.
Here’s a look inside my fun and yum experience with El Alma at Home:
Instructions are included to do all recommended mise en place prior to beginning cooking.
I had such a great time and would give El Alma at Home’s cooking and cocktails class and A+! I’m already looking forward to the next one!
If you have any question/comments, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. As always, remember to always have fun in the kitchen!
